This window is used to monitor the special CPU registers (e.g. PC, W, PORTA, TRISA etc). It is also used to monitor some special simulation registers.
These are:
- IPA - internal port A (this is what the CPU is trying to output via port A)
- XPA - external port A (this is what the external logic is trying to drive into port A)
- XPADDR - external port A data direction (this is what is trying to drive port A or read from it, this should be considered the external equivalent of TRISA)
- IPB - as IPA but for port B
- XPA - as XPA but for port B
- XPADDR - as XPADDR but for port B
Selecting a register from this window will cause it and its value to be displayed in the extry text field. Its value can then be modified (via the keyboard). The value of the original register will be changed when <enter> is pressed.
Modifying the PC register will cause the simulator to continue from the new location specified.
Modifying any of the special IO registers (PORT, TRIS, IPn, XPn or XPnDDR) will cause the effective IO to be re-evaluated and the appropriate port A or B will be updated.
